BFA managed the removal of 15 underground storage tanks and replacements with above ground storage tanks to comply with DEP regulations. BFA performed initial contamination assessments at all of the sites and coordinated IRA and SAR activities. BFA performed all applicable permitting and reporting as required by state agencies. BFA assisted in sizing and ordering the new above ground storage tanks, sited the locations for installation, and supervised the removal of all underground storage tanks (including closure) and the installation and testing of the new above ground tanks.

Tank sizes ranged from 500 to 12,000 gallons. Specifically, the tasks included six tank removal and replacements at five water treatment plants for the Water Department, four tank removal and replacements at four pump station locations for the Wastewater Department, two temporary tank installation and permitting for Orange County Facilities Management, and two 12,000 gallon tank removal and replacements at the Orange County Landfill. BFA also performed compliance and inspection construction retrofit activities for six solid waste facilities.
