HydroGeological Evaluation
|
During the past few years, the City has called on Barnes,
Ferland and Associates, Inc. (BFA) to provide hydrogeologic
assistance regarding future well field siting, Consumptive Use
Permit planning and post remediation contamination
monitoring.
BFA prepared two technical evaluations that involve the City’s
plans for future well field withdrawals. The first evaluation
was needed to demonstrate that the City’s future well field
withdrawals would not result in deficits, as reported in the
District’s Draft Water 2020 Plan. This work involved reviewing
supply well water quality data, developing a groundwater
flow model to predict drawdowns within the Upper Floridan
aquifer as a result of the City’s proposed 2020 withdrawal
quantities and coordination with City and District Staff.
Model results were used to demonstrate that no impacts would
result if four new wells were added to spread out the pumpage
effects. |
