BFA coordinated closely with the Contractor to identify all FDEP requirements and obtain County permits BFA performed the initial environmental testing using soil OVA screening in the vicinity of each UST. The OVA activities focused on those areas immediately surrounding and beneath the tank. Samples for screening were collected by hand auger. When the soil was saturated below the tank, assessment activities were limited to a single water sample from the center of the tank pit. Water samples were analyzed for BTEX and if OVA screening indicated excessive soil contamination then a single sample from the hottest area identified was analyzed for pre-burn characteristics. BFA teamed with a state licensed contractor specializing in UST removals and construction to perform the tank removal and installation activities. Under BFA’s observation the sub-contractor performed all construction related services necessary to properly remove the referenced tank and replace it with above ground ConVault tank. BFA arranged for the sub-contractor to be responsible for obtaining the appropriate permits, ensuring that all manifests were obtained for proper tank, product, and contaminated soil disposal. BFA also coordinated the necessary compaction tests with a geotechnical engineering firm. BFA prepared all the necessary site closure and assessment forms for submission to the County and FDEP. BFA also summarized the site activities, including OVA screening and groundwater testing results in a final letter report addressed to the County.
